Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Best co-op game on December 20, 2006

This is one of the best co-op Action RPG game for 4 players. There are many characters to choose from and many to unlock. In addition to the unlockable characters, there are unlockable costumes for each character that change the looks and specifications.

This game makes use of the motion sensing feature in the Wii remote, but not every well. Some attacks using the motion sensing feature is difficult to use and most of the time it does the wrong move. Most players would just use the buttons instead of constantly moving the wii remote.

However, this game is great and we all enjoyed it. This is a must get if you're into co-op Action RPG games.

Rayman Raving Rabbids

Must have for a party game on December 20, 2006

This is one of the best games on the Wii. Rayman Raving Rabbids is a game built on a bunch of mini-games that make use of the wii remote motion sensing feature. There are many mini games to unlock in single player and the mini games are really fun.

The best of this game is found in the multiplayer mode. This game is surprisingly addictive and is playable even for your friends who have never played this before. Due to the low learning curve, you don't really have to teach others how to play for them to get started.

Resistance: Fall of Man

Great for fans, not so great for beginners on December 20, 2006

This is a very solid game with great visuals, sound, storyline, etc. However, the controls are difficult to adapt to and it's one of the games where you have to train yourself to be an expert to be able to enjoy the game. It's frustrating at first to get used to the controls and the game doesn't support keyboard & mouse unlike many PS2 FPS games. This is not to say that the PS3 doesn't support keyboards and mouse, it's just the game that doesn't support them.

This game is very difficult unless you're good at using the controller. It's difficult to aim and even when playing in the easiest mode on co-op, we're still having difficulties passing the game. However, keep in mind that this is our first time playing FPS games using a controller.

Having a high definition TV is very important in this game. The enemies in the distance is hard to see when using 480i mode. Once the resolution was changed to 1080i, it was much easier to see the distance and distinguish the enemies from the allies.

This game is great for experienced players who enjoy FPS games. However, for beginners who have never played FPS with a controller, we recommend renting this game first before buying it.

Excite Truck

A game to be kept forever on December 20, 2006

Excite Truck makes excellent use of the motion sensor in the Wii remote. If you were to use just a gamepad, it would only be half as fun. The single player mode is fun and there are many trucks to unlock. Just unlocking the trucks and vinyls takes up a lot of time. Although getting through the first part of the game is quick, the super-excite mode that's enabled after beating normal mode is challenging and even more fun. Many of my friends enjoy playing this and the two player mode is fun. However, on a 4:3 screen, it's hard to see what's around you. I recommend using 16:9 mode, even on a 4:3 screen and have it stretched. 16:9 mode will show more area around you making it easier to play.

Ridge Racer 7

Great game, but boring. on December 20, 2006

This is a really well made arcade-style racing game. Unlike Need For Speed, there's less physics and more arcade fun. The game difficulty is good, except when you use the motion sensor to steer. Using the motion sensor is harder than the joystick and makes the game quite difficult. It took me several tries to beat the first tournament using motion sensing. Graphics is amazing, with a lot of decorations such as a flock of birds, waterfalls, gondolas, etc. to make the scenery really nice. Unfortunately, the game gets repetitive very quickly and the online play isn't much more fun (let alone the time it takes to actually join an online game). If you enjoy racing games, you'll enjoy Ridge Racer 7. If you're a normal gamer, you'll probably get bored of the game before you finish it.
