Indigo Prophecy

An Amazing Foray Into New Territory on July 14, 2007

Above all things in a game, I look for story. A good story can make you think, make you care, and will lodge itself within your mind forever.

Indigo Prophecy has this in abundance.

Now, this is far from your typical game. It does not take a person of great skill to beat it- if you can play Simon Says and push buttons really fast, you can play this game with ease. But what sets it apart is not its simplistic game play, it's how it tells its story.

The actions you take within the game determine how the plot out folds. Now, it won't change it too much, as there is a major plot line it must follow, but parts of it are changeable by you. It plays much as if you had been sat down to watch a movie, but a controller was placed into your hands and you were told to move the characters.

Now, it is not without its vices. The control of the characters at times is frustrating. Not to the point you'll want to throw the controller into the wall, but enough of an annoyance that it's worth mentioning. Also, the plot seems lacking within the middle. If you seem to notice that the plot is making some pretty big leaps around there, you're not the only one. They ran out of funding, and had to cut short the middle. Sadly.

Even with those problems, I cannot bare to rate this game any lower then perfect. The voice acting is spectacular. The story wonderful. The game play interesting. If you have not played this yet, then this is an absolute MUST.
