Cold Winter

The Sleeper Game of PS2 on August 26, 2007

At first glance, this just seems like another one of your typical first person shooters for your PS2. As you play it more and more, it becomes apparent to you that this is a highly above average game. Not many FPS games have taken gore to such heights. While the gore is over the top, it adds to the intensity of gun fights.

The games story is actually quite impressive. It has all the usuals for a typical action movie (Chinese nuclear war heads, extremely evil bad guys) it is a very immersive and compelling part of the game.

The graphics, are another story. They are on par with all of the other PS2 games. Although the fires and exlosions stand out, the blood and gore are really shocking. You could be going through a large gun fight and look down to see a soldier with a missing arm or no legs.

The sound is also nothing too impressive. It is just the sound of another gun being fired. If you want amazing sounding guns, go to Black, but that game is something else. This game in fact surpasses Black by just a little bit more in overall terms.

Well overall this game would be a 4 1/2, but I can't do that. This game is a prime example of great games that go unnoticed and no one buys them ( See Okami. Clover was shut down because of you. Shame, Shame.) This does not offer cheap thrills. It is a genuine example of gaming at it's best.
