Demons are always the way to go!

Reviewed by Blazej302 on June 29, 2007  |  report this review

The Darkness is by far a must have for PS3 owners. it allows you to control Darklings(which in my opoinon is a little disappointing) and use them to kill your enemies for you. but what makes this game standout from all the rest is that as you progress through the game you are given "Darkness Powers" which are AWSOME! The Darkness powers allow you to wield special Darkness Guns and use one of the Darkness's heads to detach itself from you to go kill off bad guys that are way from striking distance. this games Visuals are more then exceptable and the overal controls are quite natural to most shooters. but i did find some things wrong with the game, like for instance when i was using the Darkness's head to go strike some bad guys, i would often find myself striking nothing but the sky and still hitting the guy completely. also The AI is ok but not enough to get me saying "Wow, these guys are nearlly Human" because believe me, one second they will be shooting at you and the next they will seem like they forgot about you as if you were ever there! The Darkness though is overal one of the best shooters ive ever played and you should definitely go and pick yourself a copy.

Solid Buy

This game was pretty good. It had an in depth story line that kept me playing to the very end. graphiacly its better than most but not the best. it had some neat concepts like controling the darklings and summoning the darkness to devour, impale, blast, or suck you enemies into a dark hole. A few things i didnt like about the game were the sound track and how Jackie didn't have a life bar, sometimes it would seem that he would die with very little damage. Other than that this is a pretty solid buy and addition to any collection. I give this game 7.8/10 because it keep me playing until the end but i haven't played it since.

Game maybe a short one, but it is truly like watching a movie that you take a part.
Storyline is the stong point of this one, the gameplay is not like COD4 or resistance fall of man, but all the options together make it a great over all game.
Great music, great graphics, and killer Storyline.

Dont pay attention to what other people tell you about fnishing this game in 1 day. That is bullcrap, unless you are a unemployed person, this game should give you an enjoyable week to 2 weeks if you are not a couch potatoe

Short but...wait for it...AWESOME

It is a favorite of mine. It is one of the coolest games ever as it captures your greatest fear. DARKNESS.
Graphics: 7/10
It has some ok graphics. Doesn't come close to the graphics of COD4 or GTA IV
Fun: 9/10
It is pretty FUN!
Campaign: 6/10
It has a very short campaign, boring cutscenes and uninventive level designs.
Multiplayer: 3/10
Don't even try.
Overall: 7/10
It is very fun but could have worken on... EVERYTHING. Also had about 30 frames per second (compare that to COD4 240 frames per second)

###SPOILER ALERT###

Look for Darkness 2 it will probably feature Angelus
