well i was very disappointed at first but after playing it i got kinda caught up in it so it wasn't too bad...but the graphics were HORRIBBLE!!! i mean my GODD! i payed 600$ for the damn PS3 the graphics shouldn't be somthing that looks like the xbox. the ending was pretty good but still medioker...the story was awsome but they could have done alot more with it....its worth getting i supose, but its very far from amazing, if theres gonna be a F.E.A.R 2 i'de buy it, hopefully they'de make the graphics of the hizzy. Its not very scary, only a little bit maybe a little less than DOOM you don't really get startled in this game, just creeped a lil', but its not horribble and its not fantastic...so 3.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FEAR

The only FEAR I have is not being able to SWAP this god forsaken game. It gives a new definition to the word CRAP. Hmm actually that might be a good name for this game C.R.A.P.
Graphics suck, Game plays sucks, sound sucks, humm did I mention that graphics suck??
S.U.C.K.S. or C.R.A.P is a good alternate name for this thing.. If anyone want to swap it just because of mere curiousity dont hesitate to msg me PLEASE
decent game but could've been better

this is a decent game, but from what I understand it was ported from the PC version, and it does not take advantage of the ability of the PS3. The firefights are great and realistic with smoke and debris in the air. As for the supernatural part of the game, it is creepy. The developers needed to add subtitles for this game because the sound is kind of low sometimes and you really have to crank up the television to hear what is being said. Overall, you are better off renting this game or borrowing it from a friend.

i just got this over the weekend and played it sat. night it is a pretty cool game with pretty realistic explosions and bullets hitting concrete walls. it does get a little freaky sometimes with ghosts or people you think u see go across the sceen.and blood dripping from the ceiling. you go threw bullets quik too, i think using 2 pistols is more accurate but ammo is hard to find for these not like the rifles, the shotgun is ok to use it takes 2-3 shots to down your enemy. this is like alot of the combat games it just has a freky twist to it which is kinda cool.when you comes across the water it looks like u could swim deep to other levels but it is a reflection, the water is not that deep

One of the best shooters on the PC, it was ported to 360 and PS3 a year or so later. Not as scary as BioShock but definitely kept me looking over my shoulder. The gunplay is fun, but ammo is scarce for the better guns. Flashbacks and visions of a little girl are filled with blood and gore, so if you loved the Saw movies, you'll love this. Would've been scarier without the guns. Who cares if a blood-drenched ghost pops out with a handful of human skulls? I've got a shotgun. The coolest feature was the slo-mo. Your character must've undergone some crazy training because he moves faster than the bullets themselves. Matrix-esque slowdown allows you to dodge bullets and watch your hit their mark in cinematic slow motion. You could also put down your guns and simply use your fists, which i haven't seen in a shooter in a long time. The real unique part of combat is the kick though. if you jump in the air and press the melee button, you'll do a double kick that nearly instant kill. Looks awesome too.
The only complaint I have is the graphics, which seems to have been lost in the transition from PC to console. So if graphics influence your buying, better to get this for PC.
Multiplayer

The multiplayer is fun, but it's anything but noob-friendly. The exact opposite in fact.

F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is a first-person close-quarters combat game for the PC. The story begins when a paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, and the government responds by sending in Special Forces. The group loses contact with the government when an eerie signal interrupts radio communications--and when that interference subsides moments later, the team has been destroyed. That's where you come in. As part of a classified strike team created to deal with threats no one else can handle, your mission is simple: eliminate the intruders at any cost, determine the origin of the signal, and contain the potential crisis before it gets out of control.
Trust me... Rent this one before you Buy / Trade

When considering this game for yourself please keep one thing in mind... this game was initially released for PC back in October of 2005. It's the same game but roughly ported over to PS3. If you've played it for PC you'll notice only that the textures have been changed and the overall graphic quality lacks.
The fact remains that very few, if any, PS3 games out now fully harness and utilize the processing and graphical power of the consoles hardware. It seems as though Day 1 Studios (employed to make the transition to console) made this transition onto the 360 and PS3 in haste and didn't think it through quite as well as they probably should have.
In closing, I hate to give negative reviews on ANYTHING (ya know, if you can't say something nice...) but this game is a made for TV movie plot mixed in with a dash of lack-luster graphic and AI merit that rivals that of a house fly. Please don't waste your time or money. Wait until it hits the $19 bin at Target if you're really that interested.
