Glorious battle? Not here.

This game falls woefully short of many a gamers expectations due mainly to sub par graphics and somewhat "iffy" gameplay. However, to it's credit, the movie was phenomenal and perhaps gamers expect this game to feature the same raw imagery and balance in some way. Therein is the first mistake, don't compare the game to the movie and it may be an enjoyable romp through the blooded fields of Sparta.

However, gameplay is extremely limited after the first. You begin your glorious adventure by hacking your enemies limb to limb (literally, you cut off all kinds of parts in this game) and achieve various upgrades throughout the many battles, but once you've completed the game (which is a little over an hour) all you have left to do is restart a new game and use the various upgrades from the previous beaten game in order to continue your repetitive "hack and slash" adventure all over again.. and again.. and again. Very disappointing replay value to say the least.

Other disappointments were an extremely long lag time coupled with poor graphics. At times it seemed that the entire game was in slow motion. Upon final review I'd have to say that this game does not do the movie justice and that perhaps gamers are warranted in their initial reviews about how poorly put together this title is in reality. I believe this is simply a franchise title gone awry in which the makers simply wanted to get the product in the user's hands and hope the quality would be overlooked because of the great impression the movie made.
