Pretty cool

Im pretty sure the Xbox version is better. Basically everything you've heard about the game is true, you can blow the living crap out of everything, and blow it up again. You get a full arsenal of stuff that go from supplies to a bunker buster bomb! The explosions in this game are beautiful, except for clouds of smoke, they seem to be random clumps of brown rather than a mixed together poof. The storyline is well thought out, and probably will happen in the not so distant future. I recommend this game to anyone hat loves war games and fighting alone with no boundries....did I mention its a sandbox game where you get to choose when you do your missios?

This game is awesome. Tanks, Jeeps, Helicopters, Hummers, and really big Guns. If you like third person shooters and freedom to do whatever you want to whoever you want, this is the game. The missions are fun, but the real fun is just blowing the crap out of the N. Koreans and anyone that gets in the way. Dropping fuel-air bombs, cruise missles and artillery on enemy installations is so much easier than getting shot doing it yourself. I'm not sadistic , but sometimes the limitation of other shooter games ruins the fun. Why can't I shoot my allies? Why can't I blow up the whole dang town? Why can't I get thier vehicles and weapons? I don't have to ask those questions with this game, I can just do it. Besides what other shooter game lets you play as the bad guy or Indiana Jones for that matter. (cheat codes, got to love 'em)

Pandemic and Lucas Arts team up again but not to make a Star Wars game but a free roaming game called Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. This game has descent graphics for the PS2 plus it is really addicting. You run around looking for missions from the Allied Nation, Chinese, South Korean, and the Russian Mafia. But the true enemies throughout the game are the North Koreans. And there are leaders who are apart of an organization called the deck of 52 cards. The Main leaders who are close to general Song (The Master of them all) are the Aces of each of the sets of the cards (Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds) There are a variety of different weapons and vehichles. From a An anti-tank missle launcher to a pimped put Helicopter. by the way as long as theres 1 person in the vehichle, unless it's a tank with people in the storage, you can hijack it! which is pretty awsome action sequences when this occurs. Plus with your hard earned cash you can buy supplies & vehichles (which are dropped by helicopters; so they can be shot down), and Air stikes like a cruise missle, artillary bombardment, ground missles, and even gunship attacks. Plus if u just wanna have fun do it in this game! Blow up things kill anyone in your way or just air strike a base for no odd reason! This game ROX! Who'd a thunk that Lucas Arts could create such a great game thats "Down to Earth!"

I don't know about you guys, but when I saw the commercial for this game on T.V. I knew that I had to buy it. If You like grand theft auto you will like this game as it is very similar. One of the best PS2 games so buy it.

Hijack, steal, blow up, kill, destroy, air strike almost any thing in the game. you are a mercenary an army of one agenst a never ending battle of the north korean. steal any thing from civilian cars to tanks and helicopters.
This game will always be a favorite of mine.

This game is like a T rated Grand Theft Auto game. You can do whatever you want or you can do some missions for cash to buy stuff off the black market. And if your not the mission type of a person you can head out in a helo or in a sports car and look for enemy soldiers to kill, this will boost your money too! Overall this game is amazing from the great graphics, to the amazing gameplay, i rate it at 5 stars. I just cant wait for Mercenaries 2: World in Flames to come out. i picked up this website if your interested in it, once you see it i know you will be. http://www.mercs2.com/

This is a great game no matter how you look at it. The missions are fun to do, and if you get into trouble during the missions, or crash your helicopter, you can always call in another one or have a truck dropped off for less money. Even after the missions are completed, I like how you can still roam around wherever you want and kill enemies to get more cash! Good graphics and big explosions add to the list of good qualities. Also, there is an added challenge of capturing your objectives alive. A quick tip to get money is to steal missile trucks from behind enemy lines, and try not to damage it, and drive it back to the soviet garage, where you can get a pretty good amount of money.

This game is by far one of the greatest games made for PS2. You are able to freely roam the world and you have a seemingly endless arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and airstrikes. This game is a must have for those who still have a PS2.

To start this review off, THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES MADE FOR PS2... EVER. Dozens of weapons, tons of people to kill (Friendlies or North Koreans alike) tons of things to blow up, and MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. The money system is genius in my opinion. Destroy a North Korean vehicle, get a handful of cash (a pretty big handful, a couple thousand dollars at a time) and this game has never gotten old for me, it took me a while to unlock all of the weapons, vehicles and airstrikes, and even longer to get all of the members of the 'Deck of 52'! Interesting missions and large, free-roaming maps top off this game about the conflict in North Korea.
