A mere platformer

For the handheld owner pre-advanced-age, Wario was the go-to guy in Mario's absence. After his introduction as a villain in Mario Land 2, Wario became the hero of choice for the adventurer on the go. Wario's search for wealth and treasure (and more importantly, a home) were some of the most cleverly crafted platform games available. Better, in fact, than their console cousins. The innovation of an invulnerable and malliable hero made for puzzle-platforming of the highest degree. Wario 3 is a treasure in itself for those who manage to play through it, retraversing through familiar territories to seek out what was not available before. Super Metroid meets Super Mario 64, mission-based and collective. Wonderful.
WarioLand 4, though, takes a more linear approach and brings a health bar to the series, which, in turn with the one-time level design and time limit, all but eliminates the pure exploratory fun of the previous two games. There are other types of fun to be had, certainly, and Wario is still quite flexible. The levels, though perhaps more shallow than Warioland 3's, are still immensely intricate and require patience to fully comprehend. But the whole adventure is a step back into the rich and repeated platformer tradition, and since its release, those looking for a truly inspired Wario game have had to look to the microgame genre for support.

Gets boring...

its fun for a while but after you beat it and everything it gets boring...there are different difficulty levels but once you beat those its not really fun playing it over and over again a million times. so once you beat it you should just like sell it or something so you can get another game. It takes a pretty long time to beat it though. It took me about a month or so and then my brother started playing it. There are way better Wario games out there such as WarioWare touched and WarioWare smooth moves. but for the GBA this game isnt too bad.

boring after a while

yea i agree with deathfart (real nice name, by the way. *sigh*. people are pathetic sumtimes) the levels can be challenging and some things are well hidden, but if you want to see sumthing immature then the bosses are for you. It isnt really in-depth. Pretty much he goes into a pyramid and then falls in a trap hole and has to get all the gems to unlock the boss stages. The bosses are guardians of 4 treasure chests each. The bosses are timed. For every 15 seconds spent in the last minute one of the treasure chests disappears. When you beat the bosses their souls become keys that unlock the mini-pyramid level. However many treasure chest you beat the bosses with will appear in the final boss stage. The same basic timing system applies for the last boss, but different time periods for losing the treasure chests. How many treasure chests you leave with will affect the ending. Yeah, thats really in-depth (i bet you had to read it 5 times to get it) well, its collectible, i guess, but it might not be worth it to some people.
