If you like FF or strategy games, you'll like this.
Presentation: 7/10 (Maybe a bit too kidsy)
Graphics: 8.5/10
Gameplay: 9.5/10
Sound: 9/10
Lasting Value: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10
If you have a Playstation, get FF Tactics, too.
Good addition to the FF series

Being the first Final Fantasy game available for GBA in 2003, I had a lot of fun playing it... It doesn't feel like I was playing the original game Final Fantasy Tactics because the story is a lot different. The gameplay is also quite different. Still I recommend this game if you have not played the PSX version.
Way Too Easy, But Not Bad

I own both FFT for the PS1 and FFTA. I've played them both their fair share. FFTA for the GBA is a good addition to any game who wants to experience a handheld strategy game. The game's storyline is kind of kiddish, but that's fine, if you can bear it. The storyline is bad in itself, but oh well, it's the battle system we like anyway. It delivers in that area, with good graphics and interesting missions. However, it fails to be difficult at all (after you get Double Sword, you can easily defeat an army of 6 with 1 or 2 people). I ended up killing the last boss in 2 hits, my character becoming that powerful just by playing through the game. If you're looking for a challenge, this game has DO NOT BUY written all over it - But if you're looking for something for your kid that'll engage his/her brain, this is for you.
Excellent Portable Strategy Game

I will echo the other reviews by saying this is a great game, but was designed to be too easy. The graphics are great and it has a very Final Fantasy feel. The story is interesting, but as you near the end of the game, it just seems to drag on. It's PS1 big brother is far more developed, but this is a great portable game to play on the plane or in the car.
Good One

Trully a great game from Square Enix for the GBA.
Originally released about 2 years ago, this is still one of my favorite GBA games of all time.
The game includes :
- A lot of classes
- 6 different races
- 300 missions
- Tons of weapons, armor, and accessories
- Plenty of time spent on game - about 30+ hours
Rather easy game for the hardcore gamer, but a really good and enjoyable one nontheless
best gba game for me

this game is great, it is better than the original final fantasy tactics for the ps1, it has a ton of missions and some great graphics that is better than any other gba game. the gameplay consists of playing the missions then going to towns, only in menu form, and buying and selling equipment in shops or going to the pub to pick up more missions, there is also a monster catching system thats very engaging and the laws system is very interesting that puts a twist to the battles.
Kiddie FF Tactics

I was excited when I read this was coming out. I bought it on the first day it came out. The races, the job system, everything was great. On it's merits of gameplay, it's great. The mission-structure replaces the story-driven plots. There's story, but most the game does feel a bit repetitive, repeating missions of areas to hold your influence, areas, etc.
The story is what is off for me. Final Fantasy Tactics was awesome. Incredibly deep, dark story that everyone dies. Even the guy who wrote the story gets burned at the stake. The princess dies in the very end, Delita becomes a murdering bastard. Well, not in this version, oh no! This is obviously based for a younger audience, based around children. The story is far, far less complex. It's a decent story overall, but it is NOT the finely woven tapestry that the original PS1 game was.
Great game, but rubbed me wrong, FF:Tactics being one of my favorite games of all times. Still an excellent game to play, but the story is much lighter (And lighthearted) than in the original game.
A bit too long
Reviewed by dholcombe on April 06, 2008 | report this review
This game is good, however I wish it were a bit shorter. It can get boring at times and I feel that it would have good replay value since you can unlock different things by placing the towns, etc differently, but for me its just too long to play a second time to get the unlocks and use the things I learned the first time around which is a bit disappointing. Overall this is a good entry in the series.
