Unlockable: Advance Campaign

If you're already quite good at Advance Wars and you want an extra challenge, try starting an Advance Campaign. To get it, you need to first buy the "Advance Campaign" under Battle Maps (this will become available either after completing the Campaign Mode once). Once you have bought it (it only costs a buck), start a new Campaign while holding down the Select button. The words Advance Campaign will appear in the upper left corner, the computer AI will be tougher and some of the units in the following missions will be stronger. For example, instead of regular tanks, you often face MD Tanks, your opponent has more units, and you less, and so on. But in return, you will get much more cash for winning missions.

Unlockable: Gold Lettering

You can get flashing gold lettering for the following categories by fulfilling certain conditions:
Field training: Get an A rank on all training missions.

Stats: Complete all 20 War Rooms - the rank doesn't matter.

War Room: Get a S rank on all 20 War Rooms.

Rank: Earn the highest rank, Gold Dragon.

Records: Get both Rank and Stats flashing, and then this will flash also.

Campaign: Complete normal and Advanced Campaign - the rank doesnt matter.

Battle Maps: Unlock and purchase every CO and buy every map.

Design Map, VS. Mode, and the Multiplayer menu cannot be turned into flashing gold letters

After you have finished the Field Training missions (and in the course opened up the War Room, Campaign, Design Maps and Stats features), go back into Field Training. A very short tutorial called Special Intel is now available that gives you extra gameplay tips.

Unlock commanders

Unlock CO Sturm Once you have purchased all of the CO's except Nell from Battle Maps (Grit, Eagle, Drake, Kenbei, and Sonja), Sturm will appear on the list and can be purchased for 100 coins. Note - Sturm can only be used in Vs. mode.
Unlock CO Sonja Unlock and win Sonja's secret missions in the campaign (see other hints) and complete the campaign. Sonja will appear in the Battle Maps area to purchase for 60 coins.
Unlock CO Kanbei You must complete the Campaign. He will appear in the Battle Maps section to be purchased for 50 coins.
Unlock CO Grit You must select Max for Mission 4 in Campaign mode and complete the campaign. Grit will then appear in the Battle Maps section to be purchased for 50 coins.
Unlock CO Eagle Choose Sami for Captain Drake, Naval Clash, Wings of Victory, Battle Mystery - At the end of the campaign, you will have a final battle, between Andy (you) and Eagle
Unlock CO Drake You must select Andy for these missions during campaign mode: Captain Drake - Naval Clash- Wings of Victory - Battle Mystery.
