Awesome game. This is way better than Pokemon Colosseum which is the only other pokemon game I own. I had like 20 pokemon on my last adventure but mistakenly deleted it because I wasn't paying attention. I had a Turtwig at level 17 and I evolved shinx into luxio and starly into staravia. Could have evolved Turtwig soon. Now I'm stuck with Piplup (lv 5) Bidoof (lv 3) Starly (lv 4) and shinx (lv 3) these are the basic pokemon u catch b4 u reach jubilife town.

Pokemon Diamond
Reviewed by Jester82 on June 16, 2007 | report this review
Pokemon on the DS is nothing new -- we've already received Pokemon Dash, Pokemon Trozei, and Pokemon Ranger in the system's two years of life. But it's the RPG design the public's clamoring for, not the spin-offs -- those games were just biding the time while Game Freaks cranked out the enormous, ambitious, real deal Pokemon project. It doesn't matter what's going to be said in the next thousand or so words: Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will, without a doubt, be the top-selling game released to date on the Nintendo DS. There's absolutely no debate here. Millions of gamers are going to buy this game no matter what the critical word will be, but that won't stop us from calling it like it is: Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl are still the "gotta have" portable games, but don't expect to be overwhelmed with a fresh take on the series. The team stuck to its guns and kept the DS game in line with the Game Boy Advance designs, which were, honestly, a modest upgrade to the Game Boy Color game, which, in turn, wasn't a huge step over the game that started it all in black-and-white a decade ago.
For a game that's literally sold countless millions of copies over the past ten years, it's pretty amazing to discover gamers who have yet to experience what Pokemon is all about. Under its kid-friendly, thick sugary coating lies a deceptively deep and addictive design that encourages players to create collections of highly marketable creatures of various species. The core mechanic is an adventure with role-playing game battle mechanics -- these creatures will fight for their owner using their abilities in a turn-based interface, where players choose the best mode of attack or defense that'll get them through the brawl. Winning battles will earn these creatures experience which will, in turn, advance their levels and increase their capabilities...as well as earn their owners some coin for purchases at the shops.
So pretty much Im saying its the Best game ever. Just I expected more from it.

This game is pretty solid. The graphics are good and the controls are simple. There is some flaws though. Its basically the same thinng as other Pokemon RPGS,but with different features. So the bottom line is it is a pretty good game.I give it a 8 on a scale 1 from 10.

Well first off, let me say its pokemon. this means that if you are going to be playing it online there are gonna be winey kids which only use overpowered pokemon so don't say that I havent warned you.
Anway, Despite living in the UK and importing Jappenese Diamond I simply couldnt wait for the European release so I imported myself a American Pearl. I was very impressed with the graphics and the size of Sinnoh as it is amazingley big. Even after the E4 there is a lot of stuff to do. There are quite a few new pokemon which in my opinion feal like a trip back to jhoto, I really disliked the 3rd Generatio ngames as it seemed to me that they hadnt made any new 'fresh' pokemon but that they were all dull and edited versions of old pokeom, in Diamond and Pearl this is not the case. There are new evolutions for some old favourites and new pokemon all together which really does add a new flavour to the world of pokemon. There are also new evolution metods such as a pokemon must know a certain move in order to evolve or gain a level at a certain place.
There are also many new features added which include the use of the bottom screen as a Poketech, this is a watch wich you strap on your wrist and has many differant functions which you collect during your travels. Some examples of these include a watch for keeping the time, a step counter and note pad. There is also the addition of the underground which lets you dig for fossils of pokemon and many other things including Evolution stones and Heart Scales. One of the most anticipated features however is trading and battleing over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. If you have a Wi-Fi USB adaptor or a compatible router than you can connect your game up wirelessley and have battles with people over the internet! You must exchange friend codes to do this but if you go to www.serebii.net or any other good pokemon forums then chances are you will be able to find someone to battle.
All in all this an amazing game which will keep you busy weather you are a hardcore gamer or just someone who does a few hours gaming a week, this is the game for you!
oh yeah it rocks

so basically a review of pokemon diamond? not only is it a great, if somewhat enormous, intro for anyone new to the franchise, but its an awesome game with almost 500 pokemon and an extremely long play time. i got mine and was unable to even think about putting it down for a week. for returning fans, its got a slew of new features, including the poketech, a multifunction watch that goes on the touch screen, and the underground, where you can dig for "orbs" (gems that you can buy stuff with) and fissils, as well as shards and heart scales and the like. of course theres also the wi-fi, with the ability to trade internationally if youve got a hotspot, or to battle if youve got someones friend code. Overall? it rocks.
Super cool game.

The latest handheld installation in the Pokemon video game series, this is one great game. Taking place in the all new region of Sinnoh, this game demonstrates stunning graphics for a handheld video game system, a captivating plot, and combines the best elements of both RPG and monster capturing game genres. It has a story that is intriguing, with new team of villains, the notorious Team Galactic. Of course, in every Pokemon game there is an evil team that uses Pokemon for their own selfish wants and purposes. 'What makes this team so special?' You ask? Motive. The leader of Team Galactic (I can't disclose his name, as it would ruin a pivotal point in the story) wants to use the legendary Pokemon, Dialga, the Pokemon of time, to... Sorry, but if you want to find out, Play the game! It uses the tried and true Pokemon battle method, but like Emerald and Crystal versions, the Pokemon will move at the start of the battle! It reintroduces the day and night cycle from the Jhoto region, which makes completing the Pokedex much more challenging and fun. This is a great game, with lots of replay value and hidden surprises. I say buy it!

Congrats to the Pokemon franchise, this by far is the best Pokemon game in the epic series. This game really warmed my heart when I was battling my throught the 3-D world of Pokemon. With all the new features including Wi-Fi, new pokemon, and far too many to count, features, I do belive this is one of the greatest games of all time! For any gamer who hasn't given Pokemon a try, and say that it's for kids, well then I say, I'm sorry that you don't agree with the ten million plus people who have already bought the game. In this game you will find all sorts of things to do, you can battle your way through the main game, show your face in a couple of pokemon contests, explore the new graphical designs, trade on the GTS, or just relax and go fishing! So for my final plea I would really like at least on person to experince the ulitamte power that this pokemon game has to offer and go get a copy!.. but, you don't have to take my word for it...easily on the top 100 list of games of all time.
P.S. I have been playing mine for more thatn 105 hours.

I've played this game and i beat in two days it isn't as great as it used to be. But i guess i just got bored of it, because i played this series as long as it has been out. The best of the series was Red, just because it was my first and it was challenging. On diamond it seems as though the makers ran out of ideas for cool looking pokemon. I already have all 493 pokemon on the game, and a lot are at lv. 100, so gamefreak needs to make another tybe of game.
Great game.

Fun, but not as great as the previous generation. Sure, it's in 3-D but the gameplay hasn't change much. There are a few neat extras like the underground feature which you can trade in gems for items. The best feature is obviously the WI-FI, you can now trade anyone throughout the world and battle them too. If you have any friends, it's a worthy purchase.
All in all, if you're a pokemon fan get it. If not, just skip it.
