Painfully simplistic

This RPG is painfully simplistic. Unfortunately this is the only game in the Lunar series I've ever played. I hear the others are better. As you play through this game you will battle beast men, vile tribe members, and the occasional dragon. Touch screen controls aren't well utilized and you have to do a lot of walking back and forth through areas you have already been through. This just makes the game longer and not more fun. By the way...you walk SLOW. There are two battle modes...during one you collect items, during the other you can get XP. You cannot get XP and items from the same battle. Again all this does is make the game longer. There is not really any other difference between the two modes. Combat is turn based and you cannot target a specific enemy. It's random.
The only way to earn money is to run errands from town to town...again painfully slow. That's the theme of this game. Slow paced repetitive grinding. The story isn't that bad, but it's just too little story for too much work. This is the only RPG I've ever taken back to the store and sold after completing it. I usually keep all my RPG's and replay them or portions of them. All around, one of the worst games I've managed to stick with long enough to complete, but not so bad I quit before it was over. Not recommended
one of the worst RPGs ever

I have played so many RPGs. So many are so good and you will hear about them but you never really hear about the bad ones so this is going to be my first review on a super bad RPG that you should not waste your time on cause again it's a waste of time for a game that is really pitiful. The way characters level up is one of the worst features of the game and as you get more characters to join your party you are at like level 50 and when they join your party they are at like level 10 so its pretty lame they die all the time. The battle system really is designed poor cause you cannot select which enemy to attack so you keep on attacking the same one and while the weaker one is kicking your butt your trying to kill the strong one. This game should not have been part of the Lunar series it brings the Lunar series down and if this is your first time playing lunar I would like to say stop playing this one and get the original one on the Sega CD which is the same one as lunar legends for the GBA or lunar the silver star story for PSX. In other words if I had the chance to go back to the past I would tell myself not to waste my money or time on this game. I have not yet completed this game and I am not sure if I can struggle though it. Not recomended
