greatest dawn of war game yet
Reviewed by kylekramps113 on March 08, 2008 | report this review
in this version of the great dawn of war series you must lead one of 7 armys to conquer the alien held planet of kronus as either the mighty space marines, the evil chaos space marines, the young tau, the brutal orks, the devious eldar, the ancient necrons, or the emporors impreial guard. the campaighn mode features a cool feature in which you can give your leader wargear as you progress to make him stronger and faster and with more health, and if you grow tired of that you can go to the skirmish mode and face up to 7 other computers or even other people online with many different objective choices. if you buy this game it will provide you with hundreds of hours of fun. this game definitaly deserves 4 and a half stars so i rounded up to 5 because its such a great game

Necron Tips #1
Hint by Gerdion on April 22, 2008 | report this hint
Things every Necron player should keep in mind:
1. Warriors and Immortals can teleport back to your structures almost instantly, so you should be combing the map with these units from the get-go. If anything attacks your base, you can be back there at a moment's notice.
2. For facing nasty vehicles you may be tempted to take a Heavy Destroyer against it, but use Immortals instead. They take it down faster and won't die as fast (squad of individual targets instead of one big one).
3. Necrons are hard hitting early game. Because Warriors are free, it is good to spam your opponent with a steady stream as you tech up. It is a devastating tactic.
4. The Nightbringer is the single most devastating unit in the game but it requires an insane amount of power to get to that level. Any tactic that revolves around getting the Nightbringer will fail. Same goes for "Quick Monolith" tactics.
5. Keep one or two squads of Flayed Ones at the ready in your Monolith at all times. They can never move fast once summoned, and you never know when you may need some heavy hitting CC units.
6. Your lord can teleport. Because of this, there is no reason for him to die, ever. Babysit him and he will never fall to the enemy. I stress this because Necrons are expensive. You will want as many power points as possible. Every loss will hurt, especially ones that are easily preventable like this.
