Not that great.

Untold Legends was the first and only RPG released for the PSP, so it's no wonder that it's a part of over 3,000 gamers' collections. We will buy anything if the alternative is nothing.
That said, Untold Legends isn't a horrible game. The customization of skills and stats is tried and true and holds up well here. The selection of armor and weapons available to find or buy are also acceptable, though many items are very similar and do leave something to be desired. The customization of weapons and armor is also just acceptable. You can put one enhancement on each item, and it's a nice touch, but it's been done before and done much better in other games such as Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath and their sequels. If you're looking for a game like these, Untold Legends is your only hope for reliving that experience on the PSP. At least for now. But if I were you, I'd just give the other games another whirl and save my $40.
As for story, this is where the game put a thorn in my side. I am a great lover of games like the Lunar and Final Fantasy series, and the great old-school RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. Untold Legends had me skipping through most of the text in the game because it was so hollow and lacking any emotion whatsoever. You don't get the feeling that the fate of the world is on your shoulders. You're initially treated like an irresponsible nuisance, even though you are the sole guardian of the whole kingdom.
And this is another thing that gets me. This great, prosperous city has a booming population of about.. 8. The streets are barren, you can only go inside one building, and it feels completely false every time you must return to sell your newest pile of worthless junk.
Plus, you don't even realize that one of the main characters is a princess until she's been kidnapped. Shouldn't the guardian know that the one she is guarding is the sole survivor of the crown? Nope, you won't be told that until much later. So unless you are a master of picking up on subtle (or accidental) clues, she's just another person to end the conversation with as fast as you can.
The only reasons gamers like I continue playing this game are A) Nothing else to do, B) Beating the tar out of everything in sight is obviously enjoyable at times, and C) Wait, there is no C. That's not to say that everyone should avoid Untold Legends like the plague. It's ok. But it's just that.. ok. With only a handful of other worthy RPG titles on the PSP like Kingdom of Paradise, Popolocrois, and Legend of Heroes, Untold Legends will keep you busy until the PSP's RPG library grows a bit.

127+ Available Attribute Points Glitch
Hint by i_love_games11 on October 31, 2006 | report this hint
If you save and exit a game while having more than 127 available attribute points, you will lose all the points permanently from that save. You will notice that every time you load that save, the level-up option is gone hence all the available attribute points you saved are gone as well. To prevent this glitch, you have to keep the numbers down below 127 before save and exit the game.
