Are YOU Ready To Roll?

I love this game. I've played through it multiple times and still have yet to tire of it.

The story is much better than the first game. The cutscenes are enjoyable and it tells a good story. I kind of wish that the levels of the game could be a bit more organized, but it really doesn't matter.

The controls are pretty nice, and you'll quickly get used to the dual-stick movement system. They really didn't have to add all the other button features to it, but I guess it's nice to dash faster and turn around 180ยบ at the drop of a dime. Every once in a while your finger will slip and you might lose some time, but it doesn't happen too often.

The graphics are pretty well-improved over Katamari Damacy's. It has a nicer look to it and somehow gets you more involved.

I really liked the rewards you get in the game, like having new cousins to play as and getting hats and other accessories to wear. It doesn't add anything to the actual gameplay, but it's still pretty fun collecting everything.

I can't wait for the 360 version of the game to come out, because I know I'll pick that up. For me, We ? Katamari gets 5 stars.

Speedy Help

Hint by easteast on September 30, 2007  |  report this hint

When you're in a level where you need to get as big or bigger than a building, it helps greatly to use the dash feature to pick up items faster to help you get to that minimum height.

I would recommend waiting until after you can pick up a house to use the dash. If you do it too soon, it's more likely that you will crash into something bigger than you and lose some of your rolled up items. This tip works best on the final level, since there are large gaps with nothing in them after you get to a certain height.
