NASCAR Thunder 2004. This, by far, has got to be one of the best NASCAR games of recent memory. Sure, we are now in 2007, and NASCAR 08 is out. But NASCAR Thunder 2004 is the last of, what shall I say..."good" NASCAR game era. NASCAR Thunder 2003, 2004 and 2005 in my opinion were the best NASCAR games made. Here is why I believe so. After 2005, they had the Total Team Control aspect put into the game. It is a bunch of BS. NASCAR yes is a team sport...but the team is you and your pit crew, not you and your other teammates. I hate the Total Team Control aspect, because then you have to worry about other people, and I hate worrying about other people in NASCAR games than myself. The main point of NASCAR Thunder 2004 is to create your own team from scratch, and work yuor way up the ladder to making your team Winston Cup champions. (Thats right I said Winston. the game was under the Winston name when it was made, not Nextel). the gameplay in 04 is really good. For the PS2 owners, you may feel some lag when turning and accelerating and stuff, but you get used to it. XBox owners get off better, because the XBox doesent have lag and has a much higher framerate, making the gameplay smoother and faster. There is many different modes and such. Many overlook NASCAR Thunder 2004, but if you are a WWE fan and know that today's wrestling was nothing like it was from 1997-2001, then understand me when I say this...NASCAR Thunder 2004 is the last of the good old Winston era. Get the game, for the price it is now, its a freggin steal.
